Yamu Construction Management (YCM) is a design and construction project management company specializing in the development of bespoke villas for discerning customers. Located in Phuket, Thailand the staff and management of Yamu Construction Management has an detailed understanding on what is required to effectively and efficiently design and manage the construction of large bespoke villas having worked extensively for the past 9 years on the construction of The Cape and Point Yamu by Como developments located on the East coast of Phuket.
Our team includes professional engineers and architects who are specialists in Structural, Electrical and Mechanical design incorporating both local Thai construction standards and International standards, including the American Concrete Institutes ACI 318, ASHRAE specifications, NFPA specifications for Fire and Life Safety, BS 7671 for Electrical Installations and AS/NZS 3500 for Water Supply, Plumbing and Drainage. FIDIC contracts form the basis of our construction contracts.
When designing a bespoke villa we determine the client’s vision and budget during a series of design meetings interspersed with the preparation of concept options. Once a concept is selected and a budget determined the design is fleshed out to include detailed architectural, MEP and structural drawings for final approval by the client prior to tendering the works with a selected pre-approved group of contractors. Contractors are pre-approved based on their levels of construction quality, financial ability to complete the project, management procedure’s, timeliness in completing projects, testing and commissioning procedure’s, their ability to adapt to design changes as the project moves forward and their willingness to work as part of a team to produce the owners vision.
Our Team
Paul has more than 30 years’ experience project managing and directing design and construction works throughout the Asia / Pacific region. His experience includes the design development management of two 5 star hotels, the construction management of a 5 star hotel, 27 pool villas and associated infrastructure and numerous high value bespoke villas. Pacific based contracting experience managing the construction of a harbour, landfill, subdivisions, water supplies, roads, earthworks and managing maintenance contracts.
Tai is responsible for the administration management of YCM. She has worked closely with the team through the construction of The Cape Residences, Point Yamu by Como and Point Yamu Villas.
Ton is a level 1 mechanical engineer with 17 years experience as a consultant and designer. He works closely with Nisit developing the mechanical and sanitary aspects of a design, and with the contractor onsite, inspects and coordinates activities to ensure the MEP aspects of a project work correctly and comply with the relevant national and international standards. He has worked on such projects as Point Yamu by Como, Suvamnabhumi Airport, Central Festival Phuket, Villa Santi and The Cape Villas in both design and supervision capacities.
Tarn has 17 years construction experience and is a both a level 1 architect and structural engineer. She has worked on such prestigious projects as Point Yamu Villas; Point Yamu by Como (where she was the design coordinator); Samsara and Leam Singh. Most recently she was responsible for the design of Villa 17 and Villa Padma and also undertook significant design development of villas on The Cape Residences. She currently manages architectural design aspects within the company, manages and reviews contractors work onsite plus undertakes project management of external sites.
Dat has 16 years’ experience in the construction industry working for both contractors and consultants as a draftsman and graphic designer. He holds a Diploma of Architecture and is responsible for drawing coordination with external designers and the contractors while at the same time developing the designs of villa 10 and 17. Dat also prepared concept designs for The Yamu.
